Nigeria begins shipping liquified natural gas to US from new plant

LAGOS (AFX) - Nigeria NLNG said it had shipped the first cargo of liquefied natural gas to the US from its fourth production plant.

A company statement said the consignment from the plant, which only began production in November, was loaded Saturday at the Bonny terminal in southern Nigeria for delivery to the Lake Charles terminal in the US.

Chinese Oil Corporation taps into Nigerian resources

China's biggest offshore oil producer, China National Offshore Oil Corp (CNOOC) Limited, will pay US$2.3 billion for a stake in a Nigerian oil and gasfield.

Hong Kong-listed CNOOC yesterday announced it had signed a definitive agreement with South Atlantic Petroleum Ltd to acquire a 45 per cent working interest in an offshore oil mining license OML 130 in the African country.

Fire guts three-storey building in Lagos ...Capital Oil to the rescue

A three-storey office building managed by estate company, Jide Taiwo and Company, on 80, Wilmer Crescent, Olodi Apapa, Lagos, went up in flames on Tuesday morning.

Mainly affected by the fire were the second and the third floors, which house the office of the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission, Christ Embassy Church and others.

Although no life was lost.
